Earth Hour 2010
Canon supports Earth Hour 2010: A global campaign for the earth.

Canon Marketing (Thailand) Co.,Ltd. officially was one of the partners of Earth Hour Campaign to switch off the light for one hour providing support on photo printing under 'Witness Shots on Climate Change' photo exhibition and Canon cameras as prizes of 'Before and After Landmark Switch off' photo contest. Canon staffs were also encouraged to participate in Earth Hour by turning off their home light on the set date (In 2010, the date was set on Saturday March 27, 2010). This received an overwhelming response with staff voluntarily pledging their support.

Earth Hour, organized by World Wildlife Fund (WWF), provides a united global opportunity for every individual, business, and community to acknowledge that climate change affects us all to take responsibility in working towards sustainable future, since everyone can make a big difference in saving energy. It has done a lot to raise awareness of climate change issues through a lot of activities in order to invite people around the globe to switch off light for one hour once a year.

Canon supports The Traditional Thai Puppet Performance (Joe Louis)

Canon also actively pursues the kyosei philosophy in other avenues. For example, it supports Thailand's cultural heritage --The Traditional Thai Puppet performance ("Joe Louis"). Since the beginning of 2010, Canon has been one of the supporters of the theatrical puppetry to help reviving and assuring the survival of the art of traditional Thai puppetry. This unusual performing art is also unique and exotic in that each puppet requires the synchronized efforts of three puppeteers in its manipulation, all of whom appear on stage with the puppet, and each of whom is a dancer in his or her own right.
